Product Notification (PN)

The Trade and Industry Department implemented full Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) service for Production Notification (PN) on 28 February 2000. Those traders who are not yet computerized now have to submit their applications through CMA Mongkok Office-one of the Tradelink Service Centres, where they can be converted to electronic format for submission to Government. Provided that the Product Notification application is error-free and all supporting declarations have been received, it will be forwarded electronically to the Trade and Industry Department on the same day of submission.

Eight types of form are currently available:

• Product Notification Form - Type 1

• Product Notification Form - Type 2

• Product Notification Form - Type 3

• Product Notification Request for Amendment - Type 1

• Product Notification Request for Amendment - Type 2

• Product Notification Request for Amendment - Type 3

• Product Notification Request for Extension of Validity Period

• Product Notification Request for Cancellation
  

Application Procedures:
Service Centre caters for the following situations：

1. Manufacturer and Subcontractor (if applicable) Using Service Centre (Type 1) 
   Product Notification Form - Type 1 + Manufacturer's and Subcontractor's (if applicable) signatures and company chops submitted in duplicate to Service Centre
   

2. Manufacturer Using EDI, Subcontractor Using Service Centre (Type 2)
   Product Notification Form - Type 2 in duplicate + Manufacturer's AP Message printout (with company chop and endorse on each page), submit to Service Centre
   

3. Subcontractor Using EDI, Manufacturer Using Service Centre (Type 3)
   Product Notification Form - Type 3 in duplicate + Subcontractor's AP Message printout (with company chop and endorse on each page), submit to Service Centre
   

*Type 2 and Type 3 applications are appropriate when subcontractor involves in manufacturing process.
