Staged the Hong Kong Products Expo (now the Hong Kong Brands & Products Expo) in October and December in Guangzhou and Hong Kong respectively. This was the first time the CMA staged the Expo in Mainland China

Organized the first Hong Kong Top Brand Awards to give recognition to outstanding brand names established by Hong Kong companies

The CMA Testing and Certification Laboratories held a cocktail reception to celebrate its 20th anniversary and to unveil its new logo

Held the naming ceremony of the Fu Chan Yun Mei Memorial Building of the CMA Secondary School and established the “CMA Secondary School Education Development Trust” to develop course structure and to increase learning effectiveness of the students

Formed the “Hong Kong – Mainland Joint Business Liaison Committee” with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries

Co-organized with Macao Chamber of Commerce, the “Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong's Trade and Economic Forum” was renamed the “Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau's Trade and Economic Forum” to promote economic co-operation among the four places

Donated HK$2 million, together with donations of over HK$1.7 million from its members, to carry out a series of SARS relief works

Organized a gala dinner, expos, outgoing missions and seminars to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Association. The CMA Insurance Agent Limited and the CMA Exhibition Services Limited were also established to provide professional insurance intermediary services and exhibition related services respectively for members

Organized the Hong Kong Brands & Products Expo for the first time at Shanghai Exhibition Centre, Shanghai. The 4-day Expo attracted over 100,000 visitors

Established the Guangzhou Representative Office to provide local support for members operating in Mainland China

To celebrate its 75th Anniversary, the CMA organizes a large-scale cocktail reception, a racing cup and a golf tournament, and publishes a research book on industrial development throughout the year. A Special Reserve Fund is also set up to subsidize charitable events
