Brazil : Modification of Import Tariffs on Various Products

The Brazilian Government has announced temporary reduction of import tariffs to 0%-2% for certain capital goods and information technology and telecommunications products from 5 February 2010 to 31 December 2010. Moreover, certain products (e.g. mushrooms of the genus Agaricus, certain chemicals, vaccines for type-A H1N1 influenza, certain colouring pigments, etc.) have been added to the list of exceptions to the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) external tariffs from 12 February 2010 and are now subject to specific tariff rates.
