The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) founded the “Hong Kong - Mainland Joint Business Liaison Committee (JBLC)”in 2001. The Committee held a Meeting on 7 April at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. During the Meeting, Dr David Y K Wong, Chairman of the JBLC in Hong Kong 2008-2009 cum President of CMA and Mr Zhang Wei, Vice-Chairman of CCPIT reported the works done by the Secretariats in the past 2 years. The coming Chairman of the JBLC in Hong Kong Dr Jonathan Choi, the Chairman of CGCC introduced the upcoming works of the JBLC for the coming term of 2 years.
Representatives form the associations also discussed the issue on Hong Kong enterprises in restructuring the industries.
Other attendees from the CMA included Mr Johnny Yeung, Vice-President cum Chairman of Mainland China Affairs Standing Committee, Dr Wong Chun, General Committee Member cum Vice-Chairman of Mainland China Affairs Standing Committee, Mr Paul Leung, CEO and secretariat staff.
