Oral History Interview – The Hon Chan Wing Kee (Part I)
長江製衣有限公司是廠商會最早期的會員企業之一，至今仍然活躍。
作為最早期北上發展，是國家改革開放的拓荒者之一的長江製衣董事總經理陳永棋會長，分享了港商對國家逐步走向強盛和開放的過程中，所扮演的角色和貢獻。他指廠商會不但帶動香港工業發展，也在推動國家工業走向現代化作出不少貢獻，例如當年香港廠家到內地投資初期，因對內地制度不了解而踫壁，廠商會從中提供不少協助。另外，廠商會亦就一些外貿政策和法規，與國內有關當局交流意見，以完善相關政策。

陳永棋會長分享了他在任期間難忘的經歷，其中一件令他引以為傲的工作，便是為廠商會制訂一個由成員自由選出會董及會長的制度，開創四大商會先河。陳會長當年亦積極提升廠商會的地位，並加強與華南地區政府部門的交流，幫助內地官員解決外貿等難題。此外，他認為香港製造業要持續發展，長遠要發展自己品牌，故在他領導下，廠商會於1999年成功舉辦首屆「香港十大名牌選舉」。
陳會長比較歷年來香港經濟環境的變化時指，以往政府較重視工業，但近廿年房地產變成支撐香港經濟的支柱，政策過於傾斜，租金昂貴令營商環境變得艱難。不過，他認為香港仍具有不少優勢，有利投資和營商。
