尹德勝會長指50年代初期只有廠商會代表工業界,加上曾任會董、副會長的父親也希望自己的第二代能參與會務,貢獻業界,故他便跟隨父親的步伐,加入廠商會。尹會長亦憶述成立廠商會檢定中心的始末,同時亦提到因曾擔任廠商會職業先修學校的校監多年,故在他服務廠商會期間,特別重視教育方面的工作。

尹德勝會長於2008-2009年出任廠商會會長一職,期間致力組織出訪和考察活動,讓會員對各地方的工業環境及投資情況有更深的認識。此外,2008年內地不幸發生了雪災和汶川大地震,廠商會義不容辭籌募善款以助震災。

尹會長亦提到在他擔任廠商會副會長的6年間,積極提升廠商會在社會及政府等方面的認受性,更在他的倡議下成立香港品牌發展局,協助推廣香港品牌。
