尹德勝會長指50年代初期只有廠商會代表工業界，加上曾任會董、副會長的父親也希望自己的第二代能參與會務，貢獻業界，故他便跟隨父親的步伐，加入廠商會。尹會長亦憶述成立廠商會檢定中心的始末，同時亦提到因曾擔任廠商會職業先修學校的校監多年，故在他服務廠商會期間，特別重視教育方面的工作。
