尹德勝會長指50年代初期只有廠商會代表工業界，加上曾任會董、副會長的父親也希望自己的第二代能參與會務，貢獻業界，故他便跟隨父親的步伐，加入廠商會。尹會長亦憶述成立廠商會檢定中心的始末，同時亦提到因曾擔任廠商會職業先修學校的校監多年，故在他服務廠商會期間，特別重視教育方面的工作。

尹德勝會長於2008-2009年出任廠商會會長一職，期間致力組織出訪和考察活動，讓會員對各地方的工業環境及投資情況有更深的認識。此外，2008年內地不幸發生了雪災和汶川大地震，廠商會義不容辭籌募善款以助震災。
尹會長亦提到在他擔任廠商會副會長的6年間，積極提升廠商會在社會及政府等方面的認受性，更在他的倡議下成立香港品牌發展局，協助推廣香港品牌。

尹德勝會長認為廠商會的服務範疇愈來愈廣泛及多元化。提到香港工業的未來發展，他認為應先從創新科技方面着手，建議政府擴大科研發展的支援，並鼓勵創業者放眼大灣區市場，定能有更好的發展。
