梁欽榮會長於1975年經時任廠商會會長黃篤修介紹下，加入廠商會。他認為廠商會服務的對象為香港的中小型企業，對從商的他而言，非常有幫助。梁會長亦認為廠商會是本港的主要商會，很具代表性，例如廠商會60周年時曾組團訪京，獲時任國家主席江澤民接見，並主持廠商會北京辦事處開幕，反映該會備受國家重視。
