楊孫西會長在任期間工展會已舉行了40屆，他分享了工展會的歷史及一些籌辦工展會的軼事。楊會長又提到當年工業用地都是由政府批核，年期為40年；每當續期的時候需要繳交很多的稅項，廠商會認為這會影響到工商業界的權益，遂不惜與政府進行抗爭訴訟。
