洪克協會長的家族由祖父一輩開始已加入廠商會的會董會，而洪會長則是在父親的引薦下成為會董會成員。洪會長當時主要負責廠商會的財務工作。他舉例說，當年廠商會檢定中心因錄得虧損而曾被考慮放棄，但在他極力爭取下，檢定中心最終能繼續經營下去。洪會長又憶述在任期間曾修訂廠商會的選舉方法以及相關章程，由會員投票選出會董，他相信在當時來說，是首個商會採用民主選舉制度。

洪克協會長指廠商會的職能種類繁多且隨社會發展需要不斷擴展，包括成立品牌局以助香港品牌衝出香港；又例如當年為推動國內企業「走出去」，廠商會秘書服務中心便協助內地民企到港成立公司，並提供一條龍行政服務，這亦有助廠商會吸納新會員。
