從事鐘錶業出身的李秀恒會長分享他最初加入廠商會的原因，是希望能夠更快掌握行業的資訊，並與同業保持聯繫、交流行情。當他成為會長後，認為廠商會作為本港的主要商會，應多為業界發聲，故在任期間，積極聆聽業界聲音，並向有當局反映意見；李秀恒會長亦認為廠商會應履行更多企業社會責任，因此在他的推動下，會方投放了更多資源於各類推動社會和諧發展的項目上，更與各大專院校合作，致力培育人才。

The CMA made a special donation of HK$30 million to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014
The CMA made a special donation of HK$30 million to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the CMA 80th Anniversary Celebration Press Conference on 9 Jan 2014. PolyU named a building on its campus after the CMA in recognition of the Association’s support of the university and its significant contributions to the development of education.

施榮懷會長認為作為商會，應該堅守「取諸社會，用諸社會」的原則，特別是人才培育方面，廠商會一向十分重視。他闡述當年廠商會捐款3千萬元予香港理工大學的因由；理工大學的前身是工業學院，並與廠商會早有淵源，在成立時已獲廠商會捐款支持，適逢2013年是廠商會80周年，故決議再次捐款理大。
