楊孫西會長憶述自己年輕打工時早已認識廠商會，並於1969年成立公司後加入成為會員。他亦分享了在九十年代初與其他內地設廠的港商在觀塘設立工商業聯合會及全港各區工商聯，而當時廠商會的辦事處亦設於觀塘工商業聯會內。

楊會長又提到任內的主要工作成果，包括舉行一系列活動慶祝和紀念廠商會成立70周年，成功策動旗下品牌發展局推出「Top嘜」認證，以及成立「廠商會保險代理有限公司」，為會員企業提供切合其業務需要的保險服務等。

楊孫西會長在任期間工展會已舉行了40屆，他分享了工展會的歷史及一些籌辦工展會的軼事。楊會長又提到當年工業用地都是由政府批核，年期為40年；每當續期的時候需要繳交很多的稅項，廠商會認為這會影響到工商業界的權益，遂不惜與政府進行抗爭訴訟。
