Competition Details

Eligibility
Participants must be nominated by invited chambers of commerce, government departments, organisations, or teams. Current members of Hong Kong representative teams and active professional athletes are not eligible to participate in their respective sporting events. All participants must be 18 years of age or above. In the interest of fair play, the CMA reserves the right to disqualify any participant found in violation of these requirements.
Categories
The tournament includes Men's Open, Men's Senior*, and Women's Open divisions, all in doubles format.
*The "Senior Division" eligibility requires team members to have an average age of 50 years or above, and the youngest team member must not be below 40 years of age. Teams that qualify for the "Senior Division" may choose to enter either the "Open Division" or the "Senior Division". However, this choice cannot be changed after the draw has been conducted.
Entry Quota
Entry is limited to 36 teams across all divisions; each invited organisation may enter up to two teams per competition category. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis until full.

The draw will be conducted in mid-September 2025 (exact date to be announced). Results and competition schedule will be announced within the same week.
Competition Format and Scoring System
- The preliminary round will adopt a single-elimination system; the final round format (single elimination or round robin) will depend on the number of participating teams.
- Each match will use the 21-point rally scoring system, best of three games.
- If the score reaches 20-all, the side that gains a 2-point lead first wins that game; if the score reaches 29-all, the side scoring the 30th point wins that game.

- If an organisation enters two teams in the same category, the organiser will arrange the draw to avoid the two teams playing each other before the final.
- The schedule and seeding will be arranged by the organiser, The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, by drawing lots. The entire draw will be recorded, and results will be notified to participating organisations afterwards.
- All matches will be officiated by qualified referees. All participants must comply with the referees’ decisions.
- For fairness, teams cannot change players after the draw. If a participant cannot compete due to special reasons, the organisation may submit a written request at least one week in advance; otherwise, the team will be considered to have forfeited. The organiser reserves the right to approve or reject the addition of substitute players.
- Participants are responsible for their personal belongings and must comply with the venue’s regulations.
- Participants should bring their own drinking water, towels, and sun protection.
- Participants must check in with the organiser's staff at the venue 10 minutes before their scheduled match. If a team is not present 10 minutes after the match start time, the organiser has the right to disqualify the team, and their opponent will be declared the winner by default.
- All results are subject to the final decision of the on-site referee. There will be no appeals or rematches.
- The organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In case of any dispute, the organiser’s decision will be final.
- If a team withdraws before the match, their spot will be filled by a team on the waiting list.
- Participants must wear proper sports attire and shoes.
- All team members must wear uniforms of the same color.
- Participants should dress appropriately for the weather and may wear hats, headbands, glasses, or lenses during the match.
- The organiser will provide shuttles; participants must bring their own rackets.
- Each category will have champion and first runner-up awards.
- Additional awards include: Best Sportsmanship Award, Most Energetic Team Award, Best Cheerleading Squad Award, and Best Dressed Team Award. Winners will be selected during the events.
- An awards ceremony and dinner will be held in November. All winning teams and heads/representatives of participating organisations will be invited; details will be announced later.
- If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory two hours before the first match, all matches that day will be cancelled. An alternative date will be arranged and announced later.
- If Typhoon Signal No. 3 or below, Red Rainstorm Warning or lower is issued two hours before the first match, the event will proceed as scheduled.
- If bad weather is expected and matches need to be cancelled, the organiser will notify all teams by phone one day in advance.

- The competition will adopt a single-elimination format. Each match is played as the best of five games, with each game played to 11 points. The first player to win three games is the winner.
- Players alternate serves every two points. After each game, players switch sides.
- When the score reaches 10-10, service alternates after every point, and a player must win by a margin of two points to win the game. In the deciding game, players switch sides when one player first reaches 5 points.

- In the preliminary and semi-final rounds, matches will be played as one set of 6 games. If the score is tied at 5-5, the first player to reach 7 games wins. If the score reaches 6-6, a deciding game to 7 points will determine the winner.
- The final will be played as one set of 8 games. If the score is tied at 7-7, the first player to reach 9 games wins. If the score reaches 8-8, a deciding game to 9 points will determine the winner.
- In each game, if the score reaches 40-40, the next point will decide the winner of that game.
- A player wins a game by being the first to score at least 4 points with at least a 2-point lead over the opponent.
- In a deciding game, the first player to reach 7 points with at least a 2-point lead wins.
- In each game, serves must alternate between the two service courts, starting on the right side for the first serve of each game.
- In the deciding game, the right to serve goes to the receiver of the previous game. That player serves once from the right service court, then the right to serve passes to the opponent, who then has two consecutive serves; thereafter, serve alternates every two points. Players switch sides every 6 points.
- Unless otherwise specified in the tournament regulations, all other competition rules will follow those adopted by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association.
- Please indicate your group/division upon registration; if fewer than six teams register for any category, that category may be cancelled or merged with another.

Competition Format and Scoring System
Preliminary Round:
- The preliminary round will use a group single round-robin format. Teams will be divided into groups by draw.
- Each win earns 3 points, a loss or forfeit earns 0 points, and a draw earns 1 point for each team. The top team in each group advances to the Division A semi-finals; the second-placed team advances to the Division B semi-finals.
- If teams are tied on points within the same group, ranking will be decided in the following order:
- Total goals scored in all group matches
- Goal difference (goals for minus goals against)
- If still tied, ranking will be determined by drawing lots.
- Each match lasts approximately 20 minutes, with no halftime.
- The semi-finals and final will be played as single-elimination matches.
- Each match lasts approximately 30 minutes, with no halftime.
- Each team may have up to 14 players (including substitutes).
- For fairness, teams cannot change players after the draw. If a substitution is required due to special circumstances, a written request must be submitted at least two days in advance; otherwise, the organiser reserves the right to reject the substitute player.
- Team leaders and participants must check in at the venue and verify their identity with our staff 20 minutes before their match and present a negative rapid antigen test result from that day. If a team is not ready to play within 2 minutes of being called, or is reduced to fewer than 7 players during the match, the team will be disqualified and the opponent will win by default.
- Unlimited substitutions are allowed per match, with no limit on the number of players substituted each time.
- Substitutions can only be made during a stoppage in play:
- The referee must be notified first;
- The substituted player may leave the field from any side; the substitute must enter from the halfway line;
- The substitute should wait for the substituted player to leave the field and for the referee’s signal before entering;
- The match does not need to be paused, and identity verification for substitutes is not required.
- The offside rule does not apply in this tournament.
- There are no separate penalty areas; goal areas will be marked by lines.
- In the semi-finals and finals, if the match is tied at the end of regulation time, sudden death will be used to determine the winner. If there is still no winner after 10 minutes, each team will designate one player to take alternating penalty kicks until one side scores and the other misses.
- A player shown a red card must leave the field immediately and is suspended for the next two matches.
- Other serious incidents or misconduct will be handled by the organiser.
- Yellow cards do not accumulate across matches.
- All referee decisions are final; all teams and players must comply without objection.
- Any player or team member who uses foul or abusive language towards opponents or referees may be penalized at the referee’s discretion.

- Competing teams must wear different colored jerseys. If teams have similar or identical colors, the referee will decide by coin toss which team must wear bibs provided by the organiser.
- Participants must wear long socks covering the ankles and shin guards during matches.
- Both Division A and Division B will have champion and first runner-up awards.
- Additional awards include: Best Sportsmanship Award, Most Energetic Team Award, Best Cheerleading Squad Award, and Best Dressed Team Award. Winners will be selected during the events.
