The 13th Hong Kong Food Carnival Opens Next Saturday
Perfect Destination to Chill, Shop, Play, and Score Big Rewards
Get ready to chill, shop, play, and score big! Organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (the CMA), the 13th Hong Kong Food Carnival will run from 24 October to 1 November at Kwai Chung Sports Ground. Featuring over 330 stalls with unbeatable discounts, this nine-day culinary and shopping extravaganza brings together two major trending highlights: the citywide Beyblade craze and the ever-popular Halloween activities. Complete with an exciting lineup of global street food, a vibrant chill bar, and over HK$600,000 in rewards, the Carnival offers the ultimate autumn feast for residents and visitors alike.
Speaking at today’s press conference (15 October), CMA President Dr Wingco Lo highlighted encouraging signs of recovery in Hong Kong’s retail sector. He noted that the Carnival leverages the powerful synergy of “Exhibitions + Culinary Delights” to showcase the city’s rich and diverse food culture. “Beyond satisfying the palates of locals and visitors alike, we aim to create a vibrant, day-and-night interactive space that injects fresh momentum into the local consumer market,” Dr Lo said.
Mr Ivan Sze, CMA Vice President and Chairman of CMA Exhibition Services Limited, highlighted that as a longstanding Kwai Chung staple, the Carnival has become an iconic platform for strengthening community bonds and spreading positivity. He expressed confidence that with the addition of numerous trendy elements this year, the event will deliver an unforgettable, joyful experience for all visitors.
The Carnival boasts an array of exciting highlights that visitors cannot miss:
1. Seven Thematic Zones with Deep Discounts Down to $1
Over 330 outdoor stalls will span seven thematic zones. Alongside three popular food zones, visitors can explore the Leisure Food Zone, Health Preserving Food Zone, Kitchen and Dining Utensils Zone, and the Hometown Flavors Zone, which showcases authentic local specialties from 11 Chinese provinces and municipalities.
To deliver exceptional value, the CMA is launching a “$10 and $30 Discount Trio” promotion on popular items. Bargain-hunters can also take advantage of two rounds of mega sales promotions during the opening and closing periods, featuring prices slashed to as low as HK$1 or up to 90% off.
2. Atmosphere-Packed Bar to Enjoy Global Delicacies
Food is undoubtedly the soul of the Carnival. The three food zones—the Yummy Food Zone, the lively Chillax Zone, and the newly added Southeast Asian Food Zone with 80 cooked-food stalls—will present hundreds of mouth-watering local and international street foods to satisfy every palate.
To elevate the culinary journey, visitors can indulge in gourmet food-and-drink pairings such as French Lobster Bisque, duck confit, Spanish Ibérico ham platters, and chilled abalone. These can be paired with premium champagne, whisky, refreshing draught beer, local craft brews, sake, plum wine, or carnival-exclusive cocktails, all set against a backdrop of live street busking performances.
To help visitors feast to their heart’s content, the CMA is introducing a “20% Off Gourmet Pass” this year. Passes will be distributed to visitors who purchase admission tickets onsite, in two daily sessions (1:30pm and 5:30pm). A total of 500 passes will be available, each offering a 20% discount across at the designated food stalls. Furthermore, 30 complimentary glasses of red or white wine will be offered daily at 3pm on a first-come, first-served basis for visitors to relax and unwind.
3. Beyblade x Battles x Halloween Party
Entertainment elements have been significantly upgraded this year to ensure fun for visitors of all ages. Capitalising on the citywide Beyblade craze, the Carnival will host the thrilling “Beyblade x S1 Tournament”, featuring Family and Individual divisions on 24 and 25 October, respectively. A celebrity exhibition match with special guest appearances will also take place on 24 October. Throughout the nine-day event, Beyblade arenas will remain open to the public free of charge for casual matches, while a daily “Speed & Spin Challenge” will reward the fastest spinners with a special prize pack valued at HK$500.
Coinciding with Halloween, festive celebrations will return on 30 and 31 October, filling the venue with a vibrant party atmosphere. Highlights include a spooky parade, creative DIY workshops, and complimentary face painting, alongside interactive photo opportunities with a troupe of playfully costumed performers. To further heighten the excitement, visitors arriving in Halloween attire or themed makeup will enjoy free admission. Visitors can also seek out costumed Carnival staff to play Trick-or-Treat and fully immerse themselves in the Halloween spirit.
4. HK$600,000 in Rewards and Vibrant Stage Entertainment
The CMA has prepared over HK$600,000 in total rewards to elevate the carnival experience. Beyond the highly anticipated “Food Carnival Gourmet Grand Lucky Draw” and e-consumption lucky draw, exclusive welcome gifts will be handed out daily to the first 500 onsite ticket purchasers.
The Carnival will also feature a star-studded lineup, including vocal performances by popular artists David Do Tai Wai, Niki Mok, Chelffy Yau and Victor Chen Hung Shek, . Renowned culinary figures—including Ken Kwong, head chef of a premier vegetarian restaurant, Abbie Rain, cooking show instructor, and Chris Tam, Assistant Chef of Lion Rock at Royal Plaza Hotel—will host live cooking demonstrations showcasing healthy dishes and Chinese cuisine. Complemented by A Cappella, trick jump-roping, Cantonese opera excerpts, and comedic clown skits, the Carnival promises a rich and sensational lineup of entertainment from day to night.
