梁欽榮會長於1975年經時任廠商會會長黃篤修介紹下，加入廠商會。他認為廠商會服務的對象為香港的中小型企業，對從商的他而言，非常有幫助。梁會長亦認為廠商會是本港的主要商會，很具代表性，例如廠商會60周年時曾組團訪京，獲時任國家主席江澤民接見，並主持廠商會北京辦事處開幕，反映該會備受國家重視。

梁欽榮會長憶述他在任內最難忘的事時指，他上任後第一次訪問北京便獲時任李鵬總理接見，當時已向總理提出國內中西部經濟發展如與東部地區差距太大，會對政府管治、經濟與社會穩定均有影響；因此訪京後，廠商會成立了中西部委員會探討國家中西部地區的發展機遇，並考察了湖南、湖北、江西、陝西、內蒙古和甘肅6個省份，與當地簽了不少商貿合作協議，促進內地與香港之間的經貿合作。

提及廠商會，不期然便想到工展會。工展會自1974年開始因缺乏合適場地而停辦，及至1994年始復辦，梁欽榮會長分享了當時決定恢復舉辦工展會的原因及經過。此外，梁會長亦提到工展會於1998年首次進駐國內。
梁會長對廠商會年輕一代成員信心十足，認為憑他們的學識和熱誠，絕對可以帶領廠商會更上一層樓。
