Presentation Ceremony
Honouring Local Enterprises for Sustainability Excellence

To encourage Hong Kong enterprises to continually elevate their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and build a more resilient and competitive business ecosystem, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (the CMA) hosted the 2026 Hong Kong ESG Awards cum ESG Pledge Presentation Ceremony today (7 October) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. While honouring 23 award-winning enterprises, the event also welcomed representatives from over 190 companies participating in this year’s ESG Pledge in recognition of their outstanding contributions to sustainable development.

The ceremony was graced by guest-of-honour Dr Horace Cheung, Deputy Secretary for Justice, alongside award presenters Professor Alexander Wai, Chairman of the 2026 “Hong Kong ESG Awards” Final Judging Panel and President and Vice-Chancellor of Hong Kong Baptist University, Dr Bernard Chan, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, and Mr Sammy Yeung Sau Kuen, Commissioner for Climate Change of the Environment and Ecology Bureau. Bringing together over 400 industry leaders and distinguished guests, the gathering served as a powerful testament to the local business community’s achievements in advancing responsible corporate practices.

In his welcoming remarks, CMA President Dr Wingco Lo highlighted that joint efforts by the HKSAR Government and the business sector have significantly strengthened local enterprises’ commitment to ESG compliance. They are now systematically embedding ESG principles into their core strategies and proactively addressing operational vulnerabilities, marking a pivotal shift from mere advocacy to practical, high-impact implementation. He stated, “This year’s winners span diverse sectors and sizes, demonstrating innovative strategies that offer invaluable benchmarks for the wider business community, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.”

Dr Lo further emphasised that strong ESG performance has become an essential prerequisite for companies seeking global expansion, helping them mitigate supply chain risks and gain trust in new markets. Looking ahead, the CMA will continue to support local businesses in enhancing ESG practices while actively promoting Hong Kong’s world-class professional service capabilities to establish the city as a premier regional ESG hub.
